The UK Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce (UKTNCC) is an apolitical social enterprise set up in the UK the in 2013. Our organisation promotes bilateral trade and cultural awareness between the UK & India through high profile events, themed conferences, and networking. Over the last 8 years we have contributed to the growth of companies, transaction facilitation like introductions to accounting & law firms , raising capital, profile raising, supporting policy development between the UK and India through our activities. By continually improving quality of what we do along with stakeholder support we are one of the premier most bilateral trade promotion organisations in the UK-India economic corridor.
In 2021, like all organisations due to the impact of Covid UKTNCC has also refreshed its future strategy. For the next 5 years we aim to focus on the opportunities arising from the potential UK-India future trade agreements and trade policies set by the new state government in Tamil Nadu.
Our aims are:
To be a fair and exemplary networking organisation of ethnic origin in the UK promoting international trade, women entrepreneurs, Green growth, bilateral relations and cultural awareness between the UK and India.
To be the first point of contact for UK & Tamil Nadu/India government departments for projects relating to trade and inward investment promotion.
To foster innovation, investment and knowledge transfer in sectors such as advance manufacturing, clean tech, information technology, agriculture, medicine & life sciences, education, and retail.
To be a trusted facilitator for business development and investors in both the countries through networking events, sector-based conferences, and consultancy services.
The Tamil diaspora in the UK is well established, progressive, immensely contributes to the UK economy and the GDP of UK is $ 2.829 Trillion in 2019. Tamil Nadu is the 2nd wealthiest and highly industrialised state in India with an enviable GDP of $ 290 Billion in 2020-21. To set some context, the value of trade between UK and India was £ 23 Billion in 2019 and aim is to double that by 2030 through the free trade agreement negotiations.
The role of UKTNCC is to identify opportunities arising in various sectors at both the countries and deliver bespoke networking events, conferences, roundtable discussion and other profile-raising activities. We also organize celebratory events to recognise the achievements and contribution of Tamil diaspora to British society and vice versa.
Through our diverse range of activities, we serve as the bridge between the business communities and governments in both the countries and ultimately help speed up economic cooperation.
